A Special Awareness Initiative by Teacher Candidates for World Children’s Rights Day

59

In collaboration with the Faculty of Education and the Center for Child Education Application and Research, we carried out a meaningful project with our teacher candidates on November 20, World Children’s Rights Day. To make children’s rights more visible and raise awareness on this important issue, we prepared a special video in which each teacher candidate voiced one of the fundamental rights of children.

Through this work, we had the opportunity to once again reflect on how essential children’s multifaceted rights, ranging from the right to life and the right to education to identity and freedom of expression, are in everyday life. With the contribution of our teacher candidates, we aimed to strengthen awareness of children’s rights both in educational settings and across society.

Providing children with a safe life, quality education, a loving and supportive environment, and spaces where they can express themselves freely is a responsibility we all share. Children whose rights are protected become the strongest representatives of a hopeful future.

In this spirit, our wish is for every child in the world to wake up to a day where they can fully enjoy their rights.
