It was set up as "Çanakkale Primary Teachers' School" in Çanakkale in the 1955-56 academic year to provide 3-year education. During the 1974-1975 academic year, it was converted into a 2-year "Çanakkale Education Institute". In 1982, it was affiliated to Trakya University and its name was changed to "Education School". The school, which provided 2-year associate degree of education until the 1989-1990 academic year, started 4-year education under the name of "Çanakkale Education Academy" in the same year. In the 1991-1992 academic year, it was transformed into the "Çanakkale Faculty of Education" affiliated to Trakya University. In the 1992-93 academic year, it was connected to the newly established Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University.

Our faculty operates in buildings with a total closed area of 34,005 m², including A-B Blocks, E Block and Sports Hall.

In Block E, there are service areas used by our Faculty Music Education Department, Painting Education Department, State Conservatory, Faculty Library and OSYM Application Center, AÖF Manager, SEM Directorate and Distance Education Center.
