Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University (ÇOMÜ) Faculty of Education, Department of Art Teaching 2nd year students brought together their nature-based applied works, which they carried out within the scope of the “Anasanat Atölye II” course, with art lovers in an exhibition titled “From Workshop to Nature: Impressionist Traces in Çanakkale”. This art project, which was carried out under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Sibel Begeç, aimed to have students go beyond the traditional workshop environment and produce art in alternative learning areas. The study focuses on a production process based on observation in one-on-one contact with nature, with field applications carried out in the Sarıçay area of Çanakkale.
Inspired by the impressionist art approach, the students captured the light and color changes in nature and transformed their individual sensitivities into original plastic expressions. Developing a contemporary interpretation by empathizing with a historical art movement, the students reconstructed the aesthetic relationship between nature and art with the works they produced. These exhibited works both shed light on the development process of students in art education and present a powerful narrative about the interaction between nature and art.
